The short version: both are active pedals that replace springs and elastomers with a motor, and both can work as a brake, throttle, or clutch. The biggest difference is which pedal family each one is built around. The P-Active is designed to drop into Simagic's P1000 and P2000 sets. The mBooster is built around MOZA's CRP2 and CRP pedals. If you already own one of those, that's usually the deciding factor.
What Is an Active Pedal?
A traditional load cell pedal measures how hard you press, but its feel comes from physical parts: springs, elastomers, or a hydraulic damper. Changing that feel means swapping hardware.
An active pedal replaces those parts with a motor-driven mechanism. The motor creates the resistance, so the pedal's feel is set in software. That means you can:
- Change the pedal feel without touching a wrench. Stiffness, travel, and response curve are all adjusted in the brand's software, and you can save presets.
- Use one pedal as a brake, throttle, or clutch. Both the P-Active and mBooster can be assigned to any of the three roles.
- Feel what the car is doing. Using game telemetry, the pedal can push back with effects like ABS, wheel lock, and gear shifts in supported titles.
An active pedal is different from a haptic add-on, like a pedal vibration module. A haptic add-on adds vibration to a conventional pedal, but the pedal's resistance still comes from its springs or elastomers. An active pedal controls the resistance itself.
Simagic P-Active: What Stands Out
The P-Active is Simagic's first active pedal, and it's built to slot into the Simagic pedal sets many drivers already own.
- 250kg sensor capacity. Simagic rates the custom dual load cell sensors at 250kg capacity, with a 180kg software limit. The sensor sits directly behind the pedal face to read foot pressure more directly.
- Raised pivot geometry. Simagic designed the pedal with a raised pivot for a more forward pedal stroke with less ankle rotation, aimed at steadier pressure control under heavy braking.
- Fast return. Simagic quotes a full-stroke return in as little as 100ms.
- Deep feel tuning in SimPro Manager. You get four base curves (Linear, Exponent, Logarithm, and S-Curve), an eight-point custom curve editor, adjustable dead zones, separate compression and rebound damping, friction, and Soft, Standard, or Firm settings for the start and end of the pedal stroke.
- Telemetry effects. Simagic lists ABS, wheel lock, wheel spin, gear shift, and engine RPM effects, using telemetry from around 20 racing titles.
- Drops into your existing Simagic set. Adapters for the P1000 and for the P2000 or aluminum profile are included in the box.
If you're starting from scratch, Simagic also offers an optional P-Active Baseplate. According to Simagic, it supports P2000 pedal faces as well as third-party throttle and clutch pedals, so you can start with an active brake and build out from there.
MOZA mBooster: What Stands Out
The mBooster is MOZA's active pedal, built around a high-precision ball screw and a segmented servo motor. It launched in March 2025 and fits right into MOZA's pedal ecosystem.
- Dual 200kg pressure sensors. MOZA uses two 200kg sensors that together detect pedal force from 0 to 400kg. A sensor fusion algorithm combines them with a 15-bit angle sensor for precise brake input.
- Quiet, smooth operation. A closed, rail-free design reduces friction, and MOZA rates operating noise as low as 44dB.
- Wide range of pedal feel. MOZA says the mBooster can simulate everything from a road car throttle to an F1 car brake, with brake travel adjustable down to 4.3mm and maximum force adjustable up to 200kg.
- One-click presets in Pit House. MOZA Pit House includes 15 built-in pedal presets with one-click switching, plus adjustable travel, force, and pedal curves.
- Telemetry effects. MOZA lists ABS feedback under braking, throttle feedback for traction control, vehicle vibration, gearshift impacts, and G-force effects.
- Built for the CRP2 family. CRP2 or CRP throttle and clutch pedals plug straight into the mBooster's own throttle and clutch ports.
The mBooster is sold on its own or as a set with the CRP2 throttle pedal. At Sim Motion, the MOZA mBooster Active Pedal is on sale for $759 (regularly $799), and the set with the CRP2 throttle is on sale for $949 (regularly $999).

Specs come from Simagic's P-Active user manual and product materials, and from MOZA's mBooster user manual and product materials. A higher number on paper doesn't automatically mean a better pedal for you. The bigger differences are in ecosystem and fit, covered next.
Ecosystem and Compatibility
For most drivers, the Simagic P-Active vs MOZA mBooster choice comes down to the pedals you already run.
If You Run Simagic Pedals
The P-Active comes with adapters for the Simagic P1000 and for the Simagic P2000 or an aluminum profile mount. You can replace your current brake with an active brake and keep your existing throttle and clutch.
One thing to check first: Simagic's manual notes the P-Active can't be installed on the P1000i or P1000i-RS. If you're not sure which P1000 you have, contact our team before you order.
The P-Active can also connect to a Simagic wheelbase instead of directly to your PC.
If You Run MOZA Pedals
The mBooster is designed around the MOZA CRP2 load cell pedals. Your CRP2 or CRP throttle and clutch plug directly into ports on the mBooster, which then connects to your PC over USB. To mount it on a base plate, MOZA's manual specifies the CRP2 base plate, with an optional extension plate for extra stability. You can also bolt it straight to your cockpit with T-nuts.
If You're Starting Fresh or Mixing Brands
Both pedals can work alongside third-party pedals:
- P-Active: the optional P-Active Baseplate supports third-party throttle and clutch pedals, according to Simagic.
- mBooster: third-party pedals connect to your PC separately, and you assign each pedal's role in game.
Running More Than One Active Pedal
Both systems support multiple active pedals linked together, with one USB connection to your PC. In both cases, each active pedal needs its own power supply.
Simagic P-Active vs MOZA mBooster: Which One Is Right for You?
Both are capable active pedals from brands we're proud to carry. The right pick depends on your current setup and how you like to tune.
Choose the Simagic P-Active if:
- You already run a Simagic P1000 or P2000 and want to upgrade to an active brake while keeping your throttle and clutch
- You're on a Simagic wheelbase and want the option to connect your pedal through it
- You like detailed tuning, like custom eight-point curves and separate compression and rebound damping
- You want a 250kg sensor capacity in the pedal
Choose the MOZA mBooster if:
- You already run MOZA CRP2 or CRP pedals and want your throttle and clutch to plug straight into the active brake
- You're in the MOZA ecosystem and want everything in Pit House
- You want quick setup with 15 built-in presets and one-click switching
- You want an active pedal at a lower price point
If you don't own either brand's pedals yet, think about the rest of your rig. A Simagic wheelbase points toward the P-Active, and a MOZA wheelbase points toward the mBooster. If you're mixing brands, both work with third-party throttle and clutch pedals over PC.
What You Need to Run an Active Pedal
A few things to plan for before you order either one:
- A rigid mount. These pedals push back with real force, so they need a solid cockpit or pedal plate. Any flex takes away from the precision you're paying for. Our Sim Motion 160mm Premium Aluminum Extrusion Chassis is built for high-force hardware like this.
- A PC. Both manufacturers list PC connectivity for these pedals.
- A power outlet for each pedal. Each active pedal uses its own 48V power supply.
- A supported sim for telemetry effects. Effects like ABS and wheel lock rely on game telemetry, so check that your main sim is supported. Simagic publishes its telemetry support list.
- The latest software and firmware. Install SimPro Manager for the P-Active or MOZA Pit House for the mBooster, and update the pedal's firmware before your first session.
